BBS: The Documentary
I just posted about BBS: The Documentary, which is finally complete, in the
Anywho, I’m thinking of inviting my old-school BBS buddies (you know who you are) as well as my new-school friends who could have been my old-school BBS buddies over once it gets here so we can watch it in a relatively peaceful geek-fest manner.
If it makes you feel more comfortable, danimatian, we can go bowling afterward and then Spam someone’s house with a Spoem, or we can find a forum somewhere online to mysteriously invade for a day, posting messages about The Hot Seat and TradeWars 2002. thatguychuck could get in trouble with the law while in fishnets, amberlight could show up in lingerie and spout Sailor Moon references, agent00groovey could just be all tall at us, eatonjb could get no respect while making ANSI graphics, droewyn could bring up Mercedes Lackey, hoshisabi could DM the D&D campaign (and get me a new job), handcuff_knot could drive his van into mailboxes and make references to the blunt end of woodcutting tools, joolzie could just, like, be female and incite manly fights with her mere presence, pathwalker could outgeek us with his sheer knowledgeable majesty (have you gotten the bugs out of that holographic telepresence thing yet? *winks*), peculiaire could… uhm… not post (were we ever on the same boards?) and web_litter could make S3M’s while we wait.
If you might be interested, sound off.
AKA Xavier
You are yet another one of the people I should have known from BBS days, being in the same circles of some folks and all.
What was your handle? I might have known you. :)
Golfer. Kat was actually the first girl I kissed. I was also friends with Katie Brinker, Kevin Wojtaczek, and some other Clinton Township-area folks. Mostly all through (I)ndustry BBS. I’d actually met Jeff and Joy for the first time at a party on New Year’s 1995/1996 at Sidney’s mom’s place.
That’s “Sydney” :) And yeah, Kat was my first girlfriend, back in ’92. “Sidney’s” a guy. I think we’ve talked about this before. If it was the one where we all slept on the floor, we played “bullshit” until Brett broke it up (hi brett! heh), and a few of us went outside looking for Syd when she was really in the closet all along (who knew! heh), yeah, I was there.
Heh, I wasn’t a BBSer, I was sort of an honorary one. ;)
But I want to go!
Get you a new job?
Sure, I’ll get you a new job … if you get me a new one too! heh.
Let me know, I sort of have a static and boring schedule. If you decide on a place and time, let me know.
I won’t promise it will be as interesting as a particular birthday party at Casa del Dryv Error, but I’d love to be there. :)
Ass. I was a BBS’er in the Rochester exchange. :P
I said “as well as my new-school friends who could have been my old-school bbs buddies”. However, every single person I mentioned was someone I knew at that time. It was years after then that I knew you.
You would be, of course, very welcome.
