Michelle Meyrink = yowza

I think it says something deep and disturbing about me, y’know, that my biggest crush in moviedom was Michelle Meyrink. She dropped out of L.A. in order to be a Zen Buddhist (left of center) in Canadia. (read the very bottom)

Skennedy, bringing you obscure references and links since 1991. Or later.

Smart girls are -this- hot.

  1. I still wish I had lost my virginity to her character in “Real Genius.” Her or Mary Stuart Masterson in “Some Kind of Wonderful.”

    • *grins* Well yes, that would do quite nicely.

‘course, now that she’s a Zen Buddhist, she’s still right up your alley.

      So to speak. ;)

      this much.
  2. Yes, yes, smart girls ARE hot, dammit.

    • My brain sort of runs this filter on people, and they just don’t seem to set off the “hot!” alarm unless there’s some reason to think they’re smart. Conversely, both having intelligence and knowing how to use it set off all sorts of klaxons :)

Unrelatedly, I wonder if will get on my case for using “they’ instead of he/she. *grin*

    • I LOVE your icon! Would you mind if I copied it?

And yes, smart girls (and guys) ARE hot. No matter how nicely packaged someone may be, they don’t rate additional interest from me unless they demonstrate some skill at intellectual intercourse.

      • Morrigu, hmm? *Very* interesting. ;-)

        Yes, copy away!

        • Funny that you ask about the Morrigu.

I’m actually looking into changing my LJ username because I don’t feel as strong a bond with the Celtic war goddess as I used to. I think it was one of those early 20s angsty things for me. I took the username from my email username that I’ve had for years (which is the same). I’m a red-hair Russian/Celtic mix, so the “red-browed Morrigan” has always been a goddess I felt a link too.

I’m a lot more calm now, and I’m looking for a username that doesn’t have quite the violent connotations. Sorry if this is TMI! Thanks for the icon =)

  3. I want to run away to become a monk… That’s been a dream of mine.

    Really. I know, I’m a real dork.

Also, smart boys are hot too. mmmm of course, discourse over entemology after a shared bath isn’t sexy for everyone, I suppose.

    • I can’t get behind that…. but I can get behind the same situation while discussing etymology.

      • you know… what screw you people and your internal spell checks. I don’t have one, and well. you knew what I meant.

        so there. :P

        • Actually, I honestly had no idea that you didn’t type that on purpose. etymology is the study of word origins, and entymology is the study of insects. I’m not so interested in insects.

But I’ll grin back at your “screw you!” nonetheless. ;)

My girlfriend and my best friend are both the worst spellers I’ve ever met. I don’t understand it, particularly since they’re so bleedin’ intelligent. Some people really pick it up, and others do not.

      • while you’re in anal retentive mode, could you do me a favor and go spell check and typo check my book excerpt? That is what really needs it. :)

/autumn swears it’s not just cause no one else did… really.

        • *g* I’ll tell you what. if you email it to me at atdt1991 at gmail dot com, I might just do that for you. :) Yes, I saw it on your journal, but I too am lazy ;)

  4. she was in The Outsiders AND Revenge of the Nerds? oh dang, that’s hot by itself
