Let’s see how random we can make this post, shall we?
I find it fascinating that sandwiches made on my favorite bread don’t fit in an ordinary sandwich bag lengthwise, and you can’t put them in sideways – you have to put them in lengthwise, and then rotate them.
I’m looking forward to playing Strange Attractors and Arcadia at some point. When I don’t have something else going on.
My job is just lovely and I’m totally happy my review (or at least my self-guided portion, my boss doesn’t tell me anything) is happening today.
I probably should have washed out the nacho cheese in the crockpot while it was still warm. :\
These new stackable wood stools my mom got for me while we were at Target are awesome, and I swear I wasn’t considering the naughty possibilities the moment I saw them. *nods Very Seriously*
Ben slept through my birthday party, and a full 13 hours at that. *shrug* I told him honestly that it was his loss.
Speaking of, I’m excited at the merest mention of the photos from my birthday at Leopold Brothers, Anyone who has photos can either feel free to post them where I can steal, or email them to me at this lj name at gmail dot com, and I’ll make a gallery. :D
Mom gave me a buncha money for “whatever I want”, knowing I really want a new computer table… but it’s not really enough for a really nice L-shaped computer desk with room for my huge-ass 2-monitor setup and extra room for writing and such. So I have some decisions to make.
Oh, and my presence has been requested at Penguicon, plus the people who make Icehouse and Fluxx will be there! It’s in Livonia at the end of April.
Shoes are tied, laptop’s stowed, lunch is packed – it’s time to face the day!

Hold on to it for a few months.
Ikea is opening in Canton in 4-5 months and then you should be able to get a set up that is suitable.
BTW: Hope the Birthday was good. My Great Aunt wasn’t really in the mood to bar hop. :)
*smiles* I know, I know! I’ve been in the Chicago area Ikea and the Toronto area Ikea, and there’s some seriously fun stuff there. However, my current 7-year old desk that’s falling apart is a build-it-yourself type, and if I can at all afford it, I’d like something more sturdy.
And dammit, if your Great Aunt would stop going out to the strip clubs during the week, you could drag her out on the weekends!
Isn’t everything build-it yourself now a days?
Well then, I would say, check out UM property dispo.

….I don’t even want to think about an 81 year old at a strip club…that just seems….eewwww…..
Ooh, I was wondering where that was. I’ve used MSU Salvage before. It looks like their hours are … singularly inconvenient for a working man. Maybe if/when I get a job in Ann Arbor.
I know.
They suck.
And I work for the U.
Build on yourself. I’ve had some plans in my head for a while, for an uber desk that I want to build. :-)
*grins* While this is a good idea in general, I think trying such a thing with nothing but a box saw, a tiny apartment, and rudimentary woodworking skills would probably lead to heartbreak.
I’m sure you’ve got at least a couple friends in your area that could help you with such a project. Build it at their location, transport and install in your apt. *shrugS*
I don’t know what you’re talking about! I have no friends!
… what?
shit.
Also, check your used funriture shoppes. I picked up my current computer desk from Dicker and Deal here in lansing for $25. Or maybe used office furniture places.. *shrugs*
That’s a good idea, I’ll google about for used furniture. Thanks :)
happy late birthday!
Sorry I couldn’t make it to the party…ended up being in the office till late and needed sleep. For that I hate tax season.
