Star Wars at the D.S.O.

I’d love to talk about ConFusion, but
A) I need the pictures to properly ‘splain, and jadesfire55 has them all, and
B) it’s two in the frickin’ morning – I don’t have time to write for an hour about what an incredibly great and completely unforgettable time it was, for me. Patience, my pretties!

So instead, I’ll talk a bit about listening to the symphonic version of Star Wars at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Now, I am a fan of Star Wars, particularly the originals, and I am quite the fan of John Williams, as well. That said, I am by no means a fannish fan – I’ll lose at obscure quizzes every time. So, I thought I would get a kick out of it, find myself entertained, and that’d be the end of it.

Instead, I went to adjust my glasses, and found that, during Duel of the Fates (I believe), the most curious sensation. I was listening to the incredible artistry of the DSO, coupled with the large school choir behind them, and tears were freely running down my face. It wasn’t some funky weeping circumstance – it was complete emotional overload.

There were great moments throughout the rest of the evening (particularly the OMGHOT female sith who was battling onstage during that segment) at the DSO, but if nothing else, that totally made the trip and the cost worthwhile.

Fuckin’ awesome.

PS – those who are wondering whether my costume went off without a hitch, I’d say it was totally priceless. Also, thatguychuck – I put you in the filter for “Chuck Roast”, so if you look back on my LJ page, you’ll see those posts you’d heard about ;)
