*fist up, Kevin Spacey style* “I rule!” (geekery ensues)
I do so love when my troubleshooting skills prove to be more impressive than my boss anticipated.
His sarcastic tone gets pretty extreme on occasion, and he’d said (perhaps three or four times today) “So, you’ll have this problem all straightened out by the end of the day today, right?” knowing that it was a complicated spacing issue amongst dozens of “include” fragments, macros and templates that all form our main pages. The weirdness is that the problem didn’t exist on the front page, but did on subpages, even though the part that -changed- was actually from a fragment that -was called from the same file-.
For those of you who don’t speak geek, it’s a modular system, and the same chunk looked different when used in two different places.
Anyway, the reason -he- couldn’t figure it out was because the code was too complicated to quickly analyze. A proper timeframe would be to finish examining the code by thursday or so.
However, with the help of screen capture comparisons, and blah blah blah, it’s all fixed. Ka-blam. End of day. Your sarcasm bites you back, buddy!
Fortunately or unfortunately, mr. impressed boss says he’s going to send more of these things my way in the future. Does anyone know a good place to look for job in AA??

It’s a meta-jobsearch site, queries tons of different places at once. Remember to sort by date and not relevance or else you won’t get the most current postings on the front page.
