Nearly half of elementary school teachers admit to bullying
Nearly half of elementary school teachers surveyed about bullying in schools, admitted to bullying students, according to a study in the May issue of The International Journal of Social Psychiatry.
The study surveyed 116 teachers from seven elementary schools. While more than 70 percent of teachers believed that bullying was isolated, an estimated 45 percent of teachers admitted to bullying a student themselves …
As someone who had her 11th grade science teacher admit that she “knew I could handle it” when she overly-criticized me and called me out when everyone was misbehaving… and who had her 11th grade English teacher tell her “I can’t deal with you today, sit in the hall” when I WALKED into the class one morning.
I’m not at all surprised.
Actually I’m surprised it wasn’t higher.
Well, I believe I’ve told you my experiences. *s* I was lucky, I think, that I only had two really heinous teachers, and the rest were, more or less, tolerable.
