They’re dead, Jim
It looks like I found my “moving casualty”. The Labtec speakers I’ve been using with my computer for nearing on a decade have died. They’re so old that I can’t find a picture of them in 22 pages of labtec speakers. I always appreciated that they had a headphone jack -and- a mic jack on the speaker, preventing cable shenanigans when I was a youngster living at home and I wanted some privacy. :) Dials for Treble and Bass, too.
They had a plug for subwoofer, but I never used it – the only sub I had came built into another system of speakers. So what did I do, during that time? I put in a splitter and thus had a 5-speaker set-up. because it had treble/bass controls, I had the nice weird tall labtec speakers doing highs and the cheapass extras w/ sub doing lows.
I suppose I could run a cable to my 5.1 stereo (which I bought for Halo 2), but it’s on the opposite side of the room, and so are the main speakers.
And here I was, looking forward to a little Homestar this morning. :P
Goodbye, Labtec speaker. *pet* Goodbye, Labtec’s sister speaker.
