Here’s the thing: I like to watch
In 17 days or so, the Wii comes out. Now, I know I won’t have one right
away, nor will Lucy. I will almost certainly have one at some point,
though.
I’d, erm, like to watch. :D Maybe even try it once.
So if any of you wonderful folk (who live in MI) think you’ll pick up a Wii,
and you wouldn’t mind some company while you play it… let me know. My
little gamer heart would leap for joy.
PS No Phantasy Star or Final Fantasy or (really) any other RPG classic
available at launch. Zelda I’s more the first “adventure” game, really.
Sonic, though, that was a pretty joyful game.
Does anyone know whether these classic games are 100% faithful
reproductions, or will have changes, either to the levels or in control due
to the wii remote?

I’m getting one at the launch date :D
As far as I know, they’re just emulated versions of the originals, though I wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to improve the visuals or any slowdown, akin to what was done to the N64 Zelda games when they were ported to the Gamecube. The controls should still be the same, and I know there’s a classic controller specifically built to play VC games. The wii controller itself works for some of them, but Nintendo hasn’t said which.
Our kids will be getting one for Christmas. When it actually arrives, when they actually get to open it, what games they’ll have for it, are all Not Answered at this point. My guess is we’re going to have to get a spare remote, and each of the kids is likely to sleep with one. Good luck pulling them out of their hands…. ;-)
*laugh* I bet you’re right.
Wii just seems so ODD. why do you want one?
The action with the new controller looks really fun. I think it’d make a great “party system”, which is good because I rarely play games alone anymore. I’m excited by seeing the old games come back, especially if they add anything to them. It’s ridiculously cheaper than any other system out there.
And that’s probably the bottom line. I can justify (to myself) spending maybe 300 bucks or so, at first, on a system and a game. 400, 500, 600? No.
