More wii news

Wii sold 600,000 units in one week. They also sold over 450,000 copies of Zelda (3 out of every 4 units went with a copy of zelda, in other words). In one week, they made $190 million.

  1. I’m sorry that this is completely unrelated to Wii or Nintendo; I just wanted to say that I love the (new?) icon. It makes me want to snuggle all of you. Viciously, even.

  2. Not all of those who bought zelda were to wii owners though. I know at the eb I bought my system at, several of the Zelda copies went to people who didn’t get wiis.

  3. Yeah…the combined efforts of me, Scrimmy, and Will to procure a Wii have come to naught. >:(

  5. That’s damn fine news for Nintendo. Huzzah.

  6. As always, I’ll wait a little while before picking up a system. I did not end up getting the Xbox, simply because I never did find a game I had to play on that system.

It’s interesting that the Xbox has gone for the higher-end, fanatic male gamer demographic, and that Nintendo has once again kept to the kid/noncommittal gamer, and that Sony is still straddling the line, trying to be all things to all people.

When I was at Sam’s Club they were out of PS3, and yet Xbox 360s were on the shelf.
