Waiting for the night to fall
Lucy insists that I must share with all of you something amazing I did today.
I finished the Cave of Ordeals. It was my second try, and honestly I was much more confident before I got to around level 48. Two armored grunts and a lizard. To be swiftly followed up by the three armored grunts of legend I had been warned about.
I stepped in the door with about seven hearts, one fairy, and not much else. Lucy was next to me, Puzzle Pirating away, and making cogent suggestions like “stop colliding with the walls”.
The three grunts have teamwork, I will give them that. I’d finally get one damaged, and it would hide behind the others. They were close enough together that if I spun around one of them to strike them from behind, I exposed my own back to their maces and swords. Shit.
I finally found myself facing only two of them, and I had … three hearts left, and no fairies. Something like that. This is the Last Dance, and I was prepping Lucy with brave phrases like, “I’m totally going to die. I have three hearts left, I’m totally going to die.”
I kill one more, but now my own real and true heart nearly explodes from my chest because I am facing the last grunt with one solitary heart left. There can be no mistakes.
I spin around him and hack at him as if he’d just stepped on my dog, and suddenly… he falls back, withering, and the door opens.
In the next room, an almost entirely nude fairy (with delectable breasts hiding under her green hair) lauds my determination and sends her minions to every spring, so they too may shout my glories while heaping hearts upon me in times of need.
Unrelatedly, we had a great breakfast and some time in the sun, and my large sliding glass door has been open all day and evening, and all my prints and posters are placed on the floor near where I want them (because it’s a bit late for the hammer), and I think I’m pretty much ready for my trip to NYC. I’ll have Tuesday more-or-less to myself, as we don’t have anything planned for that day – maybe I should find out of the Statue of Liberty is open these days. I did some creative work, and I’m listening to 107.1’s answer to Big Sonic Heaven (depeche mode and massive attack! I win! :) )
Things to do:
get a coupla quarters to do the second load
borrow a level to put up those ‘unsupported shelves’
put nails to walls
pack bags
EDIT: I finished burning all 50 of the CD’s I wanted to make for the Free Hugs/Free Software party at Penguicon. If anyone wanted to burn a few for the Mac crowd, I’d be happy to distribute them, but I’m done wearing out my laptop’s burner for the duration. ;)

Yep. That’s basically how helpful I am watching play games. Congrats!
*grin* Technically, it was a good suggestion, if I could’ve helped it. ;)
Thanks!
Congratulations!
Yes, it is wonderful to have your significant other next to you supporting you…
…that is until they say things when you smash the egg on the side of the bowl in Cooking Mama, “Don’t hit it so hard.” O.o
Heh, o.O sorta looks like eggs.
^_^
Excited definitely now…what’s in between?
Congratulations?
(That was all pretty much Greek to me).
Thanks! It’s going to be Greek to anyone who hasn’t played the game, heh :) That’s okay, most people don’t read my long posts anyway. ;)
I do, does that make me a geek who doesn’t understand Greek?
Well thanks for reading, I really appreciate it. :) You’re a geek who doesn’t understand link. ;)
I think I’ve lost the plot…I’ll go away now.
NoooOOooOoooo!
Well, okay. :)
I’m just getting started in Twilight Princess and am looking forward to it. :D
