Fun stuff!

So, I’m reading comments in my friend netmouse‘s journal and I see peculiaire and joedecker and … I just had to sit back and marvel at the weird little circles and spirals and weaving webs we create with our friendships.

I totally thoguht that was netmouse. It was Mactavish, which is a whole ‘nother apple, and totally makes sense. *grins* whoops! Friendships, I’m afraid, no longer marvel me. Completely unmarvelled.

Ben came over with the three-part DVD of the last three shorts we produced, and I have to say, they’re pretty hilarious. I was A.D. on one, I helped pick and place sound on another, and was Director of Cinematography (as well as co-writer) on the third. Ask to see it! I promise, it’s more amusing than a wedding!

Anne and thatguychuck came over yesterday for tostadas and conversation and such, and it was so nice. Nice because of the company, and nice because I rarely ‘entertain’. I’m far from most people, and between me and another person, I’m almost always more willing to drive.

Unfortunately, gas is a bitch and a half these days, so I really appreciate these circumstances where friends happen to be nearby, and we can get together.

The day before, I met with bardicwench and twoofdtm, took them both out to the big D (Denny’s, not Detroit), and we had great fun chatting for a good five hours. Another two people made their marks in my Big Black Book, and our waitress brought Jessica drinks with three ice cubes and three cherries – no more, no less.

It’s been a long time since I’ve arrived at the D at 8:30 and left at quarter-to-two. It was worth the next day’s certain doom. :)

This weekend is a big tangled web – I may work from home tomorrow, just like today, I may galavant to Lansing to help the girl (blue_lucy for those playing the home game) pack, I may go to the Stilyagi Picnic. Which may or may not lead to CityClub. So’s you know.

  1. Now I’m trying to remember where I commented. :)

  2. I miss City Club…actually I was chatting with the other night auditor and I might get to make a trip to City July or later this year. Might be nice.

  3. Actually I was at Denny’s too…probably about 24 hours after you…

    • Heh, well, this one was Ann Arbor – not the closest one to me, but the closest to them. :) Man, would it have been hilarious to just accumulate con-goers.

      • aha!

I used to go to that one a lot when I was up in A2 for Necto or Wizzywig’s
I think they probably know us better at that one than the one in Plymouth (despite us having a longer history with Plymouth). Last time we went to A2 our food was late but at least the staff noticed us…in Plymouth they’ve forgotten to fill our drinks and taken a long time to bring our food AND ignored us until we mentioned that we were local and used to come there all the time (they probably should have known that – I’ve been there a few times in the last month with my brother).

  4. It was a great evening. Thanks for having me over, I loved it!

  5. I’m totally up 20 points in the home game, and as long as I don’t roll a 5 on my next turn, I’ll be all but assured a place on the carousel of doom.

    • I was going to say “and by home game, I mean ‘a little slow’ “, but I’ll have to revise that, seeing as how you were plenty fast enough to steal the best meats at tapas!

  6. Still a small world. Nick told me yesterday that he was reading his friends page and came across an entry talking about how much fun they had going out to Denny’s with .

Turns out, it was . Not sure where they know each other from, but it amused me!
