Movies – Grindhouse, Spiderman 3

I saw Grindhouse with Ben earlier this week – The first part of the double feature was everything it promised to be, and I couldn’t help but laugh at the violently all-american bloodbath.

I was less impressed by the second movie. As I’ve been telling a few people, I think the problem is the pacing – Tarantino has a tendency to drown the pacing of his movie in (albeit otherwise excellent) dialogue. While I love good characters, I hate when directors sacrifice the rest of the movie in order to develop their characters.

Last night, I went to the midnight showing of Spiderman 3 with Anne and Anneliese. It was so much fun! The movie was pretty good, too. ;)

When we got to the theater around 9 to exchange passes for tickets, the lady in charge almost wasn’t going to let us get tickets, because the show was sold out. I looked at her and totally name-dropped the owner. “We got these from X.” “X Lastname?” “Yeah.” *turns to counter girl* “Do it.” It was … awesome! *laugh*

The movie itself had its moments, and was certainly worth being free. My two favorite parts are when Jameson is looking him up and down when his feet are on J’s desk, and the bit with the maitre-d. ;) I shan’t spoil it.

It was determined, though, that Eric Bana must have firm breasts. And that a number of us would like to check Drew – y’know, just to be sure.

  1. Remember how we all couldnt recall who the hell Eric Bana was? Apparently he played the Hulk in the newest movie. Go fig.
