The days are just packed
My weekend began at netmouse‘s, wherein some heavy lifting, transport, and P.T. netted me a delicious early dinner and a sweet book signed by Mr. Gaiman.
I went up to Amy ‘n’ Alex’s place in L-town afterward, expecting a low-key hang-out evening, to find I’d not known there was a Cinqo de Moustache party in the offing!
Being game for most things, I took my pre-installed moustache to Spag and Crystal’s, with Christopher, Ari, Jason, Chuck, CJ, Jim, Sam, Scott, Dave, Lisa … it was a veritable cornucopia of my favorite lansing folks. Mostly wearing silly mustaches.
On Sunday, the three of us went to always-busy Golden Harvest with the Sumblers. We visited a few old-towne stores (I was thinking of studlyspam, who I think lives right there), before I raced off to see my lovely blue_lucy. She was chapped and drained from pulling lamb from ewe for three solid days, but she was game for childe‘s surprise birthday party, which was occuring this very same afternoon.
Mr. Crampton arrived home (with the help of Caine and Wren) via the back door, and did not even notice the swank Transformers Cake in the kitchen. He saw a streamer and must have been suspicious, but had only a moment to ponder its meaning before we scared the jehosephat out of him with noisemakers.
Once he changed his pants, the fun began. :) I was only half-pleased with Scott Thom’s gift of a box of doughnuts – I was sorta hoping Benny would surprise Dave with a doughnut on the chest that night. The jig, as they say, was up.
By the time we left, the trip home was looming like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at a midget convention. Clearly, something had to be done to restore my verve. Something like… a chili-cheese burrito, my good wo/man! It had been something over a year, and I’m pretty sure I heard singing.
It might have been Lucy, and it might have been laughing.
Mmm, I’m savoring the memory right now, which is good because my ravioli lunch today is a pale, watery substitute for a satisfying meal.
I am more excited than should be legal, because that cute blonde is waiting for me at home. You’re jealous, admit it.

I am not jealous, because I’m too busy smiling – your happiness is infectious! :)
