Google Maps makes a break for it
Google to release embedded maps
Yay! Maps with markers! Maps with scrolling and zooming! I canna wait!
(For those who are saying, “huh?”, Google will start allowing people to “embed” their map on their own web page just like you embed video with youtube.)
This has been coming for a while. Im assuming that it will be able to add in maplets that they rolled out a few weeks ago and let you put up KML files.
I believe this reference is far more end-user specific than KML files and google earth connections and all of that. More along the lines of “embed this on your page” link, copy-paste, done.
sure, but Im hoping that its more that just cutting and pasting a view from google maps, but also allow for a collection of points, lines, polygons that you have added to the map.
As the young kids these days say: annotations for the win.
