Serenity on the big screen once a month?

I am not sure whether I’m going Saturday or Sunday to the charity screening of Serenity in Ann Arbor on September (22 or 23) – it depends on my homies. My homies have reminded me that I’m going to Fest on Sept. 22nd. So I’ll be doing the Serenity charity screening on the 23rd.
Strangely, I hear that it’s also playing this weekend at the Main Art in Royal Oak (non-charity). So, I’m tempted to hit that up, too.
Tonight, though, I’ll be going to a usability lecture with netmouse that discusses the differences in designing for the Baby Boom generation vs the “Net” generation … which reminds me, I’d better get my ass on the road, since I need to pick up cash (which I never carry).
PS has anyone seen a full-size version of this icon? I’m loving Kaylee next to the engine. Also also, I guess the Serenity: Collector’s Edition is coming out very shortly. I already have the original, though, and I don’t know the difference between the two.

Ooh, in Royal Oak you say? Nice.
P.S. – ♥ the recent addition of photos to your entries.
*nods* So I may be doing that on Friday night. :)
And tanks! I don’t always have photos to add, but it shore makes it purty, dunnit?
details on tonights lecture? time? room for a librarian to tag along?
The Michigan Usability Professionals’ Association in combination with

insights on the design of the user experience.
Design for Two Different Generations: A User Experience Challenge
Tuesday August 21st, 2007
Susan Weinschenk
Cheif of Technical Staff, Human Factors International
ABSTRACT
We all know about the Baby Boomers… they are a huge demographic, there
are a lot of them, and they are now aging…. but did you realize that
there is a new generation that outnumbers the boomers? Called the “Net
Generation” these are people who are born between 1977 and 1996. There
are 8 million in the US and over 2 billion worldwide. And they are
joining your organization and usability group as employees. They also
may be a critical part of your current and upcoming target audience
for the products you sell and/or the interfaces you design.
These generations are very different. In this session Dr. Susan
Weinschenk will explore the two groups, their impact on the design of
the user experience, and how their expectations, experience, use of
technology and social collaboration will radically change the
interfaces you design and the way you work.

with the sick kitty, I’m not going to be able to make it :(
*cough cough* Saturday and Sunday, not Friday and Saturday *cough cough* ;)
They are playing at the Main the same weekend? Details please? Because that could seriously affect our ability to sell enough tickets to cover OUR cost of renting the movie and and the theatre out (we have to personally front that money). Just want to be prepared for knowing what’s up. :)
this weekend. Not that weekend.
OK…phew. Had me in a bit of a panic about that!
We had an EN screening of Serenity here in CU in June (on Joss’s b-day) It was much fun. I won 2 silent auctions! And I got a t-shirt with the nifty EN/Serenity logo.
I hear these screenings can be hit or miss. Apparently the one in St. Louis was kind of lame.
Hope your screening is fun!
Hey.. um, kinda thought you had plans on the 22nd?
RIGHT! I do. 23rd it is, then!
That icon keeps making me think you’re someone else
Says Amazon, the following features are new:
-Extended Scenes (6:45)
-Take A Walk on Serenity (4:00) Cast and Crew take us on a special tour of the Serenity space ship
-A Filmmaker’s Journey (19:49) Take A Journey with Joss Whedon from script to the big screen
-The Green Clan (3:03) An expose on Cinematographer Jack Green and his team
-Sci-Fi Inside: Serenity (21:41) Hosted by Adam Baldwin, an in-depth look at the film that was resurrected from a cancelled television show, as well as its supportive culture.
-Session 416 (7:52) These internet pieces document a portion of River’s participation in a psychological study and her interactions with her therapist.
-Feature Commentary with Director Joss Whedon and Cast Members Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, Summer Glau, and Ron Glass
I am all about the Session 416 bits-they were cool.
Actually, yeah, that’s about the only thing out of that list that I find particularly worth my time. I enjoyed them.
Hmm, I might be up for viewing Serenity this weekend in Royal Oak – let me know if you decide on it. :)
Also likely interested in the Sept 23 showing, and perhaps tagging along to ‘Fest with you & your peeps if that’s an agreeable thing to you and them. :)
I imagine so :) Might have to meet you there, depending on how early we plan on getting in.
