Tell ’em that God’s gonna cut ’em down

People who use “huh?” in response to a complex question should die in a fire. XD

  1. Except all my friends, who I love dearly and don’t want to die, ever. Especially Ed, Dave, and K.T., who have admitted to using huh sometimes.

    Love ya!

  2. Huh! Huh!? Huh.

  3. I prefer “zuf?” just to keep things fresh. Or “yes.”

  4. could you rephrase the question?

    ;-)

  5. Do in mean just as in a simple response or the derogatory “Huh?” that might indicates they really don’t care what you asked or plan on seriously answering?

Or is this just a response to someone close who does this merely to irritate you?

Myself, I try to ask “Pardon?”

    • What I mean is that “huh” provides no additional information and forces the person to then ask you questions to figure out what you are “huh”ing about. Did they just not hear it? Is there a word that they’ve never heard of before, or do they not semantically understand the sentence, and need it rephrased? Are they trying to say you need to speak up?

All of these things are possible, and using “huh” as a punishment for people who mumble, as one person I know does, is A) not exactly a kind way to go about having a conversation and B) presuming people use “huh” to mean one thing (speak clearly), which it does not.

  6. How complicated?

  7. Wha?
