1- Anything that I have a recipe. No guarantee that it’ll be cooked well, though. :)
2- Astronaut, architect, minister (no, really), doctor… it’s changed a lot.
3- Does a high metabolism count as a wished-for talent? :) Nah. I kinda wish that I had the talent to be passionate at the drop of a hat. :)
4- Bubble tea. ;)
5- On the internets, through Alice, I think.
6- Nice guy, energetic, thoughtful, driven. All are still valid.

9- Either eating when not hungry or decimating my cuticles.
10- It depends. If you looked unhappy, or the conditions weren’t right for walking (monsoon, etc), yes. If you looked like you meant to be walking, then I’d assume you meant to be walking. :)

12- Balanced, I think. I usually call it how it turns out. I prepare for the best and for the worst, and try to arrange things so the best is what comes out. :)
13- Er, call maintenance, then maybe play a game of cards or something, depending on what was on hand. Hang out, chill.
14- I don’t know. To choose something and call it “the worst thing evar” does two undesirable things- first, it makes you focus on the bad things. Second, it makes you regret your past.
15- Hm. I dunno- my eyes are all colors? Brown on the inside, near the pupil, then grey in the middle and blue towards the outside.
16- 1 cat.

26. This question is interestingly structured- it presumes that money would increase your attractiveness. It doesn’t- but that has nothing to do with my answer. :) I wouldn’t- we’re too far away geographically, and my husband isn’t really down with me dating other people.

Earthsea wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t earth-shattering for me, either. It’s perhaps a book best read when young.

1. What can you cook?
Anything, so long as if it perambulated in any manner, it is already dead. I can’t execute AND cook something. :P And I want the eyeballs and head already gone (fish included.)
2. What was your dream growing up? Has it changed?
I had a weird situation growing up, as you know. Had you asked me when I was 15 years old what I hoped for in my life, it was to learn several languages so that I could become a JW missionary. They had cultivated that idea in me. If I hadn’t been in a cult at the time, I am sure the dream would have been different, although knowing several languages is something I still wish for – and I have attempted – but I am not (yet) fluent in anything except English.
My dream now? I have lots of them. I suppose my most immediate ones include paying down my debt, enabling the purchase of a larger, nicer home in a better area, and switching careers from help desk to LAMP developer. These are all tied together.
Probably these are more accurately described as pragmatic goals rather than dreams, but it’s all I’ve got. My ability to entertain too much in the way of fanciful dreams was crushed a long time ago.

The talent to eat what I want and not gain weight! :P

Cherry Bawls. Cuz it’s hilarious AND delicious.

I thought you seemed like a sincerely nice and honest person, and no, that has not changed.

3 tattoos, and only ear piercings now. I’ve removed everything else.

I’d describe myself as fairly pragmatic, but I suspect that I am seen as pessimistic at times.

Insist on a sock puppet show to pass the time. You’d have to take off your socks and use them on your hands to put on the Tarsal and Talus show, and I would provide you an audience including Little Bunny Foo-Foo and Anubis The Jackal Headed God!

I have to pick ONE? OK, I’m gonna go for the gusto here. Having my parents get involved in a cult when I was a child, being manipulated while a follower, and not escaping it until I was 26.

You’re like my brother so I have to say, while I think you are very dateable, I don’t feel that way toward you. :) And money? pfffft. That’s hardly a factor in my decision to date someone.

I am not sure how I feel about it. I guess I’m a skeptic, but I’m not going to absolutely rule out anything. I think within the concept of the law of conservation of energy, there’s a lot of unanswered questions about what happens to the energy of a human being when the body dies.
29. What do you do in your spare time, if any?
I haven’t had much of that lately, but I’m trying to learn new programming languages, build some websites, and thus my portfolio and qualifications for a new career.
30. What’s your swearing style?
It’s too excessive. :P I wish I used more creative euphemisms. I need to work on that, I used to be rather good about it.

Whiners who don’t do anything about their misery and blame others for it or expect others to fix it for them. People who don’t take responsibility for themselves and the quality of their own lives.

My ability to laugh and be absurd, even in the most stressful of situations. It’s what sees me through those times.

That’s fascinating! I happen to be a fan of a lot of aspects of existentialism, though I will tell you I was pretty disgusted with objectivism. I read A.S. when I was a teen, and I felt like it was a callous way of looking at the world, as well as arrogant about what makes a person a viable human being. Kind of Hitlerian when it comes to who is worth “saving”.
When I answered this, I used most of the 10k to pay off my debts, too, so I guess we can be boring in tandem.
As for #26 awww, I feel the same – I was tempted to take the original out, but I decided to make it goofy by putting the money thing in, instead.

Yeah, I’ve had preferences toward the philosophies of Satre (which is why it was a close second), Camus, Kierkegaard, etc., the whole school of Absurdism and Existential Humanism. That quiz was so short, I think it probably was just a matter of one question pushing Rand to the 100%. I’ve been meaning to read AS for many years, but just have felt it to be very….selfish. Perhaps I am wrong in that regard, but that’s one of the reasons I’ve avoided it. :)

Finding out my uncle is dying of cancer also sucked. But for everything that has happened to me, there’s someone in this world who is starving and dying right now; someone who is in an abusive relationship; someone who is truly suffering. It’s really a matter of perspective for me

I don’t think I ever had a dream that I was happy with. I still don’t. Right now my biggest dream is to go places and see stuff, and I’m doing that as best as I can.

I used to wish that I had standard artistic talent (paint, draw), but I’ve noticed that many people with artistic talent don’t have as much appreciation for the work of other artists as I do. So I don’t know now if I would want that talent if it meant that I would lose pleasure in the many forms of art that I enjoy. The same holds true with musical talent. At one point I would have loved to be talented at music. But most musicians I know are very critical of the work of other musicians and I would hate to lose the appreciation that I have for the music I love. I do wish I could dance, though!

You looked really intimidating, but it didn’t take much conversation to find out that you were very fun, open, and warm-hearted. That impression hasn’t changed over time. At some point I realized that you were a flawed human just like the rest of us, that you are no more comfortable in your skin than I am, and that being loved, accepted, and approved of was just as important to you as it is to everyone else. This did not detract from your charm at all, but instead helped me to relax around you more.

Scorpio, with a Sagittarius Moon and Sagittarius Ascendant. Scorpio and Sagittarius are signs that don’t have a lot in common and tend to conflict with each, so this may explain why I argue with myself all the time.

I have one piercing in each ear and would love to have a cartilage piercing at the top of each ear, but I’m a baby about the pain. I think loops at the tips of the ears look so tribal and Elvish in a way. That’s a really interesting question. I’ve never really given it much consideration. You possess all the qualities I look for in a considerate lover, so if that were ever an option I’d jump on it because you’re definitely sexy both physically and mentally. However, I can’t see us ever seriously dating because I’ve never gotten the impression that you really “get” me. The money has no bearing on my answer.

Yes, but not in the sense that they’re the vengeful spirits of the dead. I don’t think that ghosts are sentient beings, but more likely some sort of blip on the human radar that we can’t explain. Ghosts are rarely seen to do anything interesting, but more often an endless loop of scenes from what must have been their daily lives. When you see a ghost I think you are seeing an image from some other time that appears for some reason long after whatever made the image is gone.

I read a lot, write a lot of stuff about my observations of myself and world around me that never gets finished, pet my cats, compliment strangers, construct complex fantasy lives, play World of Warcraft.

#29: I can’t really get into the typical MMO – I want a beginning, middle, and end to my games, especially because I’m likely to play them too much, otherwise. Also, and this came from reading so much, I want my character to be or become the most important in the game, not be “important just like 30 million other people”. That’s not really something an MMO can fix, I think. I might change my mind for a steampunk MMO. :D
