Well, that ends that

Strangely, when I got my phone replaced under warranty, suddenly everyone who called me got classical music (Vivaldi, Lucy says) as my ring.

Frankly, I really dislike that service – I think it’s counterintuitive, and leaves me with no idea whether I’m listening to a custom Voice Mail or not.

Solved it by calling up – according to the V rep, he took a similar call a few months ago by a young girl (10-12) who was desperate to get it off because her friends were making fun of her. I declined to mention the snarky comments I’ve received as well. ;)

  1. Yeeeeaaah.

I have the Cantina Theme from Episode 3 for my caller tone :)

    My Dad hates it haha

  2. I totally agree with the counterintuitive nature of those rings. Its unexpected, and often inappropriate. (Though I suspect Vivaldi is much more appropriate than the rap tones I usually hear!)

  3. So, if I called you I’d hear Vivaldi instead of ringing, is that what it was doing?

As a replacement for ringing, that sucks. If I heard that I’d think something had gone wrong with the call. As hold music I LOVE IT. If I got Vivaldi everytime my clients put me on hold I’d be a happier person.

And it makes me sad that youngsters are made fun of for classical music. *tsk*

  4. Ringbacks make me wish I could set people on fire through the phone.

  5. Hehehe…. I want to set up the Imperial March as the caller-tone for my parents…. but I don’t think the evil stepmom would appreciate it.

I already have that as the ringtone for them. :)

  6. Oh yes, how I hate the musical ringing on the caller side. Bleh!
