Sources here at the office say Kwame is 5 minutes away from pleading guilty.

That means no more Kwame as mayor – a felony conviction is an automatic ejection.

Kwame Kilpatrick expected to plead guilty at 9 a.m. Thursday
Judge Edward Ewell Jr. presiding judge of the Criminal Division of Wayne County Circuit Court said the mayor’s court appearance has been put over until 9 a.m. tomorrow in front of Judge David Groner. It had been anticipated that the mayor had been planning to plead this afternoon before Ewell, but that did not take place.

    • Actually, I can guarantee it will be absolutely anti-climactic.

      He’ll come out, give a little speech, tear up, and walk off without answering questions.

      Or alternately, if he’s gonna be a pussy about it, he’ll send someone else out to give a speech, who may or may not take questions.

      • And if the plea bargin allows him to A) keep his license to practice law or B) allows him to keep his pension, we and the city still lose big time.

        If he gets either of those (or worse, gets both) he basically pimped the city and won.
