There’s this weird feeling of anxiety that comes when you realize there are multiple gaps in your favorite bookshelf because you’ve loaned out some books and don’t recall who you gave them too (not including earthenwood‘s book borrowing last night).

Mostly, I think it’s not remembering precisely what was there, and wondering if you’ll ever see it again.

I think it’s actually pretty rare that I get books or DVDs back when I loan them out. Perhaps because I don’t keep track.

What would be a convenient way of doing that? Maybe keep a little notepad next to the shelf?

I love mine. I also have the dvd version. You can see my book collection at http://www.mydisarray.com/bookexport/index.html. You can mark out books to people.

  3. I tried keeping a list, but inevitably when I tried to recover said books, the borrower seems to have forgotten they have the book, and then it turns into an argument. I really shoul stop loaning, but I like to share too!

  4. My dad has a big book for signing out DVD’s, it works quite well for him.

  5. wait, you lent me a book? but I don’t read! You must be mistaken.

    :P

  6. put a piece of lined paper (loose leaf, notebook, graph paper) on the front of the refrigerator or the front of the DVD cabinet/Bookshelf (or side if necessary) write down the name of the item and who has it. when its returned scratch the name off.
