Car warranty robocalls are over for now:

“Oh hell no!” Federal District Judge John F. Grady told a marauding group of car warranty robocallers who managed to annoy pretty much everyone over the past few months. The judge slapped two Florida companies with an immediate restraining order and froze their assets, which should be enough to finally end those maddening robocalls.
I know at least three people who have been inundated by these calls multiple times a day.

Oh thank GOD.
Hmm… that may explain why my answering machine was unusually full the past two weeks; I don’t listen to robots, so as soon as I heard that the message was a prerecorded one I just deleted it without paying attention.
— Steve’d be surprised, though, as he’s neither an American nor a car owner… but it wouldn’t be the first time a call list got screwed up.
I got those for a while, a few months back.. but nothing more recently than mid March? *shrugs* Glad to hear that this was the outcome. *grin*
Bout time. I got a few of those a while back.
Halleluiah! I’ve been getting those about every other week for quite a long time.
sariah has been getting them 2-3 times a week on her *cell* phone for the last 3 months. Not to mention the 1-2/week we get to the house phone. So, yeah, we’re glad that some action has been started.
He beat me to saying it… Even putting my cell phone on the do not call list did not stop the calls.
I am THRILLED about this!
Nice. I’ve got about 5 or 6 of those over the last few months.
