Srsly?!?!

There is a comic being produced based on Stephen King (and Peter Straub)’s The Talisman. With their permission.

And Gabe of Penny Arcade is doing the alternate cover (scroll down).

It was my favorite book, at 10 years old, and I read the crap out of it for the next six years.

I don’t generally buy comics, but I do believe I will be buying the snot out of this one.

  1. Whoa! When does it start??

I read that in high school and have always been intrigued by it… Have you read the newer one by King and Straub that came out a year or two ago? The name escapes me. But I’ve read that it ties into “The Talisman” in some ways.

  2. hehe, my favorite too, back then! I think I read my copy literally to shreds. SO epic, when you were ten.

Thankfully we already spent stupid amounts of money on comics in my household (Fables? How does one live WITHOUT regular Fables??), so I’m covered for an excuse to snag this one.

(I hope it’s not as good as the original, because my boy yells at me if I shred the comics. ;)

  3. Time to be the Wet Blanket Dude:

The Dark Tower stories were redone as comics last year. They went over better then they could have and not perfect. The Stand is currently being done as well. It’s going horribly.

I’m hoping that The Talisman falls into the previous category, but I won’t hold my breath. Wolf Hunt Chapter in comic form is enough to give me halfwood though.
