They Might Be Giants of Science

I guess it probably reveals what I think about science and how people treat it these days that I teared up when one kid says ‘I want to be a scientist” and his younger brother says “So do I!”

I can’t wait to steal the album away from Lucy (I gave it to her for christmas) so I can listen.

  1. Yes, “teared up” is a euphemism for cried — stop judging me!

  2. Taum’s birthday is in February and she’ll be getting this then – and both the kids will listen to it.

And if you want tearing up – I’ll record my now 6 year old singing “Why Does the Sun Shine?” from TMBG. Yes, he knows the whole song. says when he gets his recording studio set up in his house he wants to record Aidan singing it. Better hurry, says I – he’ll only be 6 for 6 more months. Then he’ll be a 7 year old that knows all the words…

    • Hee, that’s totally awesome.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend! I’m sure I’ll be in your improv class yet again. :)

  3. Even knowing that moment was coming, it still made me smile broadly :-)

My sister’s currently in early labour with her second son. I think I might have to look into TMBG CDs…

  4. Melanie and I got Here Comes Science for our nieces and our nephew. The album is really good. Really catchy and I hope there are many more to come.

  5. The B’s LOVE it!

Big B got it for her birthday and we’ve been listening to it non-stop in the car. The songs are so wonderful and catchy too. I’ve got “Roy G. Biv” stuck in my head right now in fact.

    TMBG are AWESOME!

  6. Can’t hear video right now, but I hope they mention re-writing “Why Does the Sun Shine,” so “the sun is a miasma of incandescent plasma.”
