Roger Clyne

I saw Roger last night with Skate and a whole passel of Lansing folk.

The one thing that struck me about him (other than the enjoyable show
of course) was that the dude is the all-time easiest-musician-to-talk-to
ever. He’s got humble coming out of his ears.

After the concert we all waited for him to come out of the tour bus, as
he does, and had a bit of a conversation and got some pictures taken
with all of us and him. We exchanged some amusing banter about me
getting shorter, him getting taller, but after it was done, he
introduced himself to me. Perhaps he felt he should, since he had his
arm around me for the photo, but it was just cool to have this dude
whose name is on t-shirt and cds everywhere around you
turn and offer his hand, saying, “Roger.” It’s such a small, momentary
thing, but that’s when I really thought, “hey, you’re alright.”

Does that make sense?

  1. One day I’ll have to tell you about the time we met them in Chicago. Abby and I may have scared the hell out of the drummer. Or he was gay. We’re not sure… but it was an insane night.

  2. *giggles*

careful, you’re starting to sound like me ;)
