“You made me believe in the power of friends today.”

Someone in my life desperately needed a pick-me-up. I happen to come well-stocked with love and attention, empathy and faith. So I did what any real friend would do (if at all possible); I bailed on work and happily provided what was needed, because it was needed by someone who is always the giver.

I happen to think I’ve been repaid a dozen times over, in advance. And a dozen more, with tears and hugs and happiness.

Either way, it was an excellent and memorable day, and one that makes me glad I’m who I choose to be, instead of what others try to make me.

  1. White steed.
    Shining armor.
    Hero worship.

    I’m not through thanking you.

No one tries to make any of us someone we aren’t. They will tell themselves repeatedly what we are and make judgements- but it is up to the individual to chose who they are themselves.

That is completely not true. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard someone insist that they can change someone else, and that’s just dating.

People constantly try to affect other peoples’ behaviors, with inducements and ridicule. It starts at birth and never ends. * shrug* I’m comfortable with that, but it is totally true.
