This is the best weekend I’ve had in a very long time.
This weekend was just awesome:
FRIDAY: I spent the with Katrina and her mom (the cam-whore, hee!) and her mom’s boyfriend (via webcam), and gave emotional support to the frantic attempts to get the surger working as advertised. She stayed up with me until nearly 4 in the morning, because I had a party the next day. I owe her tons and tons and tons. I keep trying to think of things I could do for her, but she’s pretty much capable fo all of them. Damned geeks! Maybe some photography?
SATURDAY: Alex and Amy’s awesome house (beautiful walls), as we’re all getting into costume. Nothing starts a party off right like mostly naked people! Karinny and I go to the art store and get some random Benny Love while we’re there, and come back to build the flames for my costume. She does a fucking stellar job on them, and amy sews the coup de grace onto my ass. :)
The party was great, the people were great, I had lovin’ from all over. It made me so glad that I went to the effort (er, katrina went to the effort, and I cut out shapes), and glad I came down, and glad I let everything go and was just…myself. Sometimes I’d just open up the ol’ robe to get a good full-body hug.
Karinny was way hot in a furrylove kind of way in the spandex pony costume, and ari was way hot in her tribal dancer costume. What, I’m supposed to remember other outfits? Jerry wasn’t wearing any pants but that is totally not new, and Sam was vexed because she was totally hot as “Powerlessness”. Hey, I’ve done concept costumes before, I feel for you. I tell you what wow, lots of people. Lots and lots.
AND I WON! I didn’t expect it. I voted for the girl in pink ;). But it was so cool, I felt that shocked beauty-pageant-winner look on my face. I’m sure I was a total dork. :) I was hugged by a used maxi pad, but that’s okay! Totally worth it.
We sang Mekong, as at every 603812 party, and you know what? It’s partly mine, now. I’ve known the words for quite some time now, and I’ve always “shared in it”, but this time, I felt like it was okay if I accepted a bit of it for myself. Leaving probably took longer than the party, as one has to go around giving hugs to everyone before you go. Which is probably my favorite part.
Benny and I drove around a bit before she dropped me off at A&A’s, and I woke up in the morning with enough time to cuddle up with Jen, before we all got together to talk about breakfast… which I couldn’t join. I promised that the next time I spend the night, I WILL make it to breakfast. Heck, maybe I’ll make breakfast.
SUNDAY: I made the (conveniently low-traffic) drive to 5th, where Chris, Alice, Debra, Brian and I did some reorganizing and unshelving. Troggie made an appearance here as well, to great accolades. My truck proved it’s not dead yet!, and we cleared out in short order. I didn’t get a chance to walk around the intense colors of the forest out back, so I must come back for that, but it’s just beautiful. We’re all caravanning down this dirt road, and I had to roll down my window and sort of reach out to it. It was in that moment that I really felt like I understood why they live out in the frickin’ boonies. *winks* We ate pomegranates that we peeled together, and puppy-piled onto the couches for some excellent and insightful discussion into what makes each of us tick, and how we all mesh together. I really dig conversations like that, when you’re talking together about your strengths and weaknesses without pretense or defense. We cuddled up and watched a ridiculously good live DVD of Peter Gabriel, and watched a couple of cheesy flicks before crashing out for the night. It was so nice to go to bed early (for me) and wake up with enough time to clean up my crash space and wake up fully. I’m usually out the door within 30 minutes of waking. The trees looked so beautiful outside, even in the greyness of pre-dawn. We sat about with the legion of laptops, and just kind of talked about nothing in particular before I had to head off to work. I’d say that some of my favorite moments of the weekend have involved people rubbing my head. *grins* When multiple people are rubbing my head, I’m just about reduced to blubber… but my favorite one of many, many headrubs this weekend was Debra’s, to the tune of “Come Talk to Me.” It was sort of a peaceful moment in my life, contented quiet. Almost contemplative, if I hadn’t been drooling on the table. Anyway :) I’d better finish this up and get some work done here at work, I’ve got a hot date tonight. *grins* Err…. ‘cept we haven’t figured out where we’re meeting. Oops :)
I LOVED the costume! Whee! Sorry I missed seeing you this weekend!
Awww, me too! I’m glad you like it. :) If you ask me nicely, I might wear it for you. *nudge nudge* Of course it’s, er, felt. And hot. :)
A pet-me costume. Clever, clever boy. :)
Let’s not forget the cuddly Trogdor, which netted me hugs of my own. :)
That said, he saw more action than anyone else at that party.
As he should. The Majesty!
Well of course it’s been felt . Duh.
;)
You didn’t drool, silly boy.
Sure was nice seeing your sleepy face on a Monday morning.
*grins* I look like a total fool in the morning :)
I totally didn’t realize you were up! I heard Chris, and of course Brian, but I was just snoozing, expecting to hear you conversing or something.
The night before, I told Chris not to worry about bothering me with the computer – when I want to sleep, I sleep.
You do not look like a fool in the morning. You’re very peaceful and content looking and you don’t have to worry about bed head.
And I had only been up about 10 minutes before Chris came out. I was enjoying listening to your breathing. Sleep can be nice to listen to.
*sheepish* You asked if I did okay with my allergies, and my first thought was, “Oh god. I was a chainsaw.“
No, silly goose, I knew that you had problems sleeping the night before because of a cat, I believe. I was hoping that our house it lighter on the allergens for you, providing a more comfortable sleep. Snoring gets teasing immediately, and you got no teasing for that, now did you?
I dunno how up I am to letting other people run my kitchen. :-p
You might get relegated to playing games while I make breakfast, if it’s my place that your staying at for breakfast.
;-)
*grins* MAN, I’ve got to sit around and have fun while you do the cooking? Don’t know if I could handle that!
(but I’d be happy to give that a shot ;)
Hey, you missed out on having someone trying to sell you $650 graveyard plots. ;)
Hey, that’s a total STEAL! *grin*
Trogdor ruled. I’m glad that you enjoyed yourself. It was great to see you there. Of course, cuddle time was great, too. :)
Sounds like your weekend was just about perfect. Glad to hear it. You need a few of those.
