“Nevermind” production
A lot of things to say and show, so I’ll try to keep things short for those of you with tiny attention spans ;)
After a good lunch and coffehouse talk with netmouse (Jerusalem Gardens was quite nice, but had me burping that flavor for the rest of the night), I made it to jadesfire55‘s birthday Star Wars experience. I hadn’t seen the cartoons before, and had such fun heckling the heck out of them! I think it’s rare to find someone who can appreciate that you enjoy what you’re watching -even as- you MST3K it.
Lucy and I braved the coming apocalypse, just barely beating the freezing rain back to my place. I had to head right to sleep because at 8 am, I was to embark upon a new project!
The film boys and I got together and made an impromptu script, cobbled together our props and costumes, and headed back to my place for 8 hours of amazing storytelling. That it only took us 8 hours is… unprecedented. I don’t want to say too much, because we won’t even get to editing it for a few weeks, but during the session, there was chili for brains and far, far too much hairy nudity. It’s a good thing it’s going to be a silent short, because whoever edits it will have to put up with laughter in every dogdamned take.
(we don’t actually even have a running title, so I just made one up)
The pictures we took make me laugh so hard I cry. I don’t know whether I’ll make a gallery or not – I don’t want to spoil the surprises in store.
My place was destroyed before we began – now it’s destroyed, rearranged, and redestroyed, so it took me 10 minutes to find my own bed.
In other news, I’ve heard my name a dozen or more times today, in nearby meetings and overheard conversation. It sounds like Chicago and Vegas are pretty much sure things.
And in the news today:
Forbes Article | Let me put it this way: If Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata was a character in one of his own games, right now he’d be flashing colors, shooting fireballs from his fingers and flying around on magical wings. The dude is temporarily invincible.
According to independent U.S. sales figures released by the NPD Group, Nintendo may have recorded “the most successful across-the-board holiday performance in U.S. videogame history.”
They can thank strong sales of the Wii, the portable DS and game software. Consumers purchased every Wii console available at retail–more than a million just in the 44 days between U.S. launch and year end. Nintendo’s portable system, the DS, sold 1.6 million units in December alone, for full-year sales of 5.3 million. Throughout the November/December holiday shopping period, Nintendo accounted for more than half of all videogame hardware systems sold in America.
New game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was purchased by 86% of all Wii buyers. Counting the companion version released for Nintendo GameCube, Zelda sold 1.5 million units in less than seven weeks, making it one of the top five best-selling games of 2006.
As a result, earlier this week Nintendo said they expect this financial year (ending March 31) to be the best in its history.

We did our part to help Nintendo’s bottom line. :-)

LOL!!
And yes, I enjoy SW and heckling it. Out of love, babee! :)
