CRAZY ASS FOG, YO!
It’s fascinating, really. It’s 9:30 and the fog still hasn’t burned off in downtown Detroit. That’s pretty stunning, since this town is like some sort of cold-weather bunker – 3″ of snow on 8 mile becomes .5″ or less down here.
I hear this is “ice fog”, which seems to make sense, since the roads were slick and my car had a thin coat.
There’s something amazing and compelling about looking out the 5th floor window and seeing only the shadow of a freeway light pole.
(I got interrupted for a moment (stupid work!) and the city is slowly coming out of the grips of (duh-duh-duh!) “Ice Fog”.

“Ice Fog” sounds like it should be a B grade horror film. Or an over-stylized action flick that thinks it’s a lot smarter than it is.

But where are the ghost pirates????

Fog is one of my favorite types of weather. I am now intensely curious about “ice fog”. How cool for you!

basically what happened, was that the snow evaporated into the air, and then condenced into fog… and then the temperature dropped, causing it to form a thin coat of ice on everything it touched as the water came back out of the air. It was pretty cool. I was out before the ice came out, then went out about 45 minutes later to everything coated in frost. I had never seen it happen before :)
