What’s in a name?

netmouse called me “sken” recently, and a new group of friends regularly calls me that, which is pretty new for me. I don’t mind any of my current nicknames – I’m just tickled that all of my nicknames are harder to say than my real name, and that people abbreviate them accordingly.

Feel free to leave comments with new nickname ideas, answers to the “other” option, or to mock me for setting myself up with the best “straight line” ever.

  1. I have no idea what your name is?

  2. To avoid confusion with I usually call you Skennedy when speaking about you with other people because it’s…well…quicker than to say your real full name, or try to explain.

    *HUGGLES*

  3. I refer to you as Scott Kennedy initially, so people know who I’m talking about. Then it’s generally “my friend Scott.”

  4. Teresa is horrible with names. She has to talk to someone personally for at least three months straight before she’ll remember anything other than a vague physical description. While knowing “of you” for several years, she has really only talked to you in person perhaps a handful of times. So… you’re probably not going to like this… in order for her to know who I’m talking about if I’m telling her about one of your LJ posts or whatever, I have to refer to you as “Scott… remember… SK’s ex?”

    Told you you wouldn’t like it… ;-)

  5. I tend to go for Mr. Skennedyyyyyyyyyy!
