Summertime, and the livin’ is easy

Amy and Ari had a joint birthday party, which seemed to go swimmingly. I’d just eaten, or I would have snapped up some of that delicious pie. Dean’s brownies kicked my ass, though – half-size is plenty.

The crew chipped in (at, I believe, Amy’s suggestion) to buy Ari three huge mirrors for the walls in her dance studio. I don’t know who was more excited – her, or us. It’s so cool, I think, when people take that kind of interest in the passions of their friends.

It was a great party for conversation, and I -love- being able to take the party outdoors at times. I didn’t spend much time out there after I helped bring the mirrors in, but knowing I could step out if my allergies acted up was awesome. They vacuumed heartily, which I imagine was pretty much for me, and I’m really grateful for that. At some point I was curled up on the floor with various wimmens, and I spared a thought for how nice it was, and for my not-coughing.

I tried to capture everyone for posterity, but I know some people slipped through the cracks. No one important, of course, just Ari’s dad and her bellydancing friends… *smacks head* I guess that’s what happens to all of us, though, we get preoccupied with taking pictures of our friends ;). And, according to Lisa, our friend’s ass-cracks. HAH! I CROPPED HER ASS OUT JUST TO SPITE YOU, LAZY HO, SO THERE! Mmrrr, is someone petting my head? Was I saying something? Where was I? Is it naptime?

So anyway, it was a fun evening – I’m surprised to say it went entirely without music, which is fairly unprecedented at the Mankey household. Of course, I probably could have gotten off my ass and hit play on whatever was in their CD player, heh.

I must have been majorly tired when I left, as there was only maybe six of us still around, and I couldn’t both say goodbye AND walk out the door. Somehow, I made it out and home intact.

Unrealatedly, but still in the same gallery because I was too lazy to make another, I picked up netmouse from the airport after spending the afternoon with me mum, and she treated me to dinner at a very nice mediterranean restaurant in A2.

Clearly, my head needs shaving again. Also, as ever, I look totally unlike my internal self-image. Ever has it been thus, so, I spose, ever shall it be.

  1. I admit, I did not cut them up. I would have made them smaller, but then I’d have *way* more to take home. :) Oh horrors!

  2. I want to see your internal self-image!
