The Peoplenet
Man, the internet is fast, but on days like today, with the tremendous storm/tornado hitting MI, you see that the peoplenet is still faster (augmented by the internet, of course).
Hope everyone’s staying safe. I hear it’s hitting Livonia now. I’m still at work, and I might stick around until the storm passes. Besides, I’d love to see it from my vantage up here on the 5th floor of this very secure building.

romulus is currently underwater or something…. was walking through 8 inch river in my parking lot just now
I ended up driving through the lightning yesterday. I think I’ll stay in my office for an extra hour, as well.
I’m capturing it on the video camera, which is pressed to the window with a couple books around it (to keep the lights from reflecting off the windows, now that it is so dark),
I have to run down to the breakroom for a window. The airport shuts down the surrounding sewers to maximize dryness on the tarmac (airplanes do not hydro-plane very well). So the lot is looking rather river-like.
Inconceivable!
We’re fine. I’m going to write a bit more about what happened…let’s just say it was an interesting afternoon–law enforcement thinks we had a tornado touchdown…*at Dunckel and Jolly* in Lansing.
This is such a weird response to be feeling, for me… but all I can think is
“Why wasn’t I there!?”
Nice. I talked to Lucy about when she was hearing all of this.
I want some real storms. I drove Trase and I back from work, that was nothing. She got a little nervous as I drive aggressively and people on Gratiot drive stupidly. We were fine though.
Of course I got soaked walking into the supermarket. At least I didn’t need to wear a shirt when I got home.
