grumble rumble
I was hoping to deal with some car quandaries today, but I’m going to get out a bit late. I’m starving.
What food do you suggest? I’m not cooking tonight, and I’m not going too far from the I-96 corridor in livonia, so… whatcha think?

Mexican.
At least that’s what I want :-p
…..well….if I was going out to eat tonight and I was in that area I would go to Akasaka’s for sushi.
Newburgh and 6 Mile.

And if you were wondering, like most places, they do, do carry out.
Yessssssss
Akasaka is probably the best Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in the area, and has been a mainstay for me and my friends for a little over 10 years now. Plus, they have a little Japanese grocery store next door!
/nods.
Started going there….7-8 years ago….that sounds about right.
Best Damn spicy tuna. I can’t tell you why, but it is the one I use as a benchmark to everyone else.
Szechuan Empire — a little pricey, but so very worth it. Middlebelt and 5 mile.
There’s a Mexican Place on the south side of 5 Mile between Inkster and Middlebelt that is also excellent.
If Middle Eastern is what you want enough to go a bit out of your way, Al Shallal on Warren, between Beech Daly and Telegraph (but closer to Tel) is excellent. It’s a converted KFC, but don’t let that put you off.
Lastly, there used a Korean place on Beech Daly at 9 mile (NW corner in the strip) that’s pretty good, and also does passable sushi. I can’t promise it’s still there, though.
I don’t think Szechuan is pricey. Though the Thai place at 6 & Newburgh is a little bit expensive.
And the Korean place at Beech & 9 was there last year, at least.
I went to Green Cedar at 7 and Newburgh, it is ridiculously, ridiculously good middle eastern food.
Also, if it matters to you, the proprietor is awfully attractive.
Charlie’s!! Yum!
I think it is better. The name of the brand that took over LaShish, by the way, is Sheesh. Seriously.
