That said, it’s not “real chai” or anything – I wouldn’t pick this up instead of making chai. But for an energy drink, it is head and shoulders above the typical fare.
Hey, that’s good to know. So does it taste like chai at all or is it a rather surprisingly tasty energy drink that just happens to be called “Chai Tea”?
In tangentially related news, I tried Amp’s new black tea “rebuild” energy
drink for the first time the other day. Really liked it, but it could
also be described as tea-esque — it tasted a lot like a carbonated
lemonade & tea mix.
And in a note of Dear god, do not ingest!, I would pass on the Lipton Green Tea. Compared to Arizona’s Green Tea, it is super-sweet and super-strong – americanized green tea, I suppose.
I dunno, I think the Chai Monster drink is way too sweet. The Mocha one hits the right spot for me, most of the others I just can’t stomach. Except the regular one with the blue logo.
I’m drinking that one now (did I mention I got no sleep?) On the whole, I dislike the taste of diet beverages (and sucralose ones, specifically, tend to make my stomach turn).
Though if you are used to drinking diet, I can understand why the non-diet would taste sweeter.
yeah I’ve generally been trying to avoid corn syrup in general. I really wish more beverages would use cane sugar because yes, diet drinks generally taste like ass.

Oh, it’s definitely chai-esque.

Good call. The Lipton Green Tea with Citrus is tasty, but not in a green tea way at all to me.
It’s sorta like how sometimes I want pizza, sometimes I want Little Sleazer’s. They’re similar, but Little Sleazer’s is not actual pizza.
On another note, Monster’s Java line is pretty decent too for a chilled coffee drink.

Chai Tea is definitely one of my favourite Chinese meditative arts.
I think you’ve got that backwards, mister. :)
No, really! Just sit down, relax, contemplate, give it a stir with your spoonerism… ;-)
