OK, Go!

I haven’t had much to say in here lately – I’m working longer hours, starting earlier, and reading an awful lot of the internets. Maybe even all of it, some days.

So, I’m looking for stuff to chat about, and I want you to help!

Ask me 5 questions. If I get enough of them, I’ll answer each person separately – if not, I may just answer one question at a time.

Make them interesting!

Some ideas to get you going: DIY, my LJ interests, my icons, conventions, my sweetie, my beard, creativity, motivation, ethics, my reading list, steampunk and related, photoshop/premiere/aftereffects, “remember that time when”, local film, the auto industry (remember I’m not a reporter, I just have opinions), cellphones, futurism/sci-fi, music

  1. What made you pick your major? What do you love about it now that you are actually working in your field? What do you hate about it? Would you pick it again knowing what you do now?

If you could change one thing about your life what would it be (saying a stable job environment is getting off to easy)?

    • Well, at the time I chose Madonna University, it was because my buddy wanted to go there and was sick of hearing me whine about how I missed going to school – see, I’d been accepted to Denver University before that, went to visit, and then found out I really couldn’t afford it ’cause I was still a dependent.

So we went to visit the school on one of their recruiting days, and I looked through their majors and picked the most interesting one, which happened to be TV/Video Communications. At the time I was working with an independent film company and enjoying that, so I thought it would teach me some useful stuff and be interesting.

I love that I get to be constantly creative, that I am always working on new things, and that I can instantly see my results and modify, constantly improving on it. I get to employ my sense of timing and my photography skills, as well, which I appreciate. And, as a technical person and a creative person, many people seem to look up to me in my job, as I am doing something they themselves think they can’t.

Also, I have an intern that I’m teaching, and that has been rather rewarding.

There is stress – there’s a deadline to meet, and I’m the only person in our group who really understands how our script translates into length of time/effort.

I would pick my major or a similar major, probably, but I might have chosen another school – I basically chose it because it was nearby, but it was not as challenging as it could have been. Their program these days, actually, is much more impressive.

I like to think that if there’s anything in my life that I want to change badly enough, I will do so. There isn’t anything I can think of that I would like to change that I”m not working on. I would like to not be working in an industry related to the automobile, but I live in Michigan after all.

I would like to live someplace a little more interesting and less depressed, and have my friends near me. How’s that for a big wish?

    • check me out, so excited to answer questions that I’m not saving them for my own posts. ;) I might repost my answer later.
