Icon glee!

(I don’t know why I chose to write “Made by atdt1991” on a quarter of my icons – I made all of them. Maybe because I didn’t want it to look like I made the graphics on some of them.)

So, I think you all know that I proposed to Lucy during SkennCon 2009, on the train. This was a shot I asked for while we were at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. Which seems like an appropriate place for us to celebrate. ;)

The internets being what they are (and being the fuzzy bear that I am), I needed a quick-and-dirty icon that said “Don’t fucking press me, I’m a fucking delicate flower, okay?” … you know, without the word fucking. It’s extremely rare that I pull this one out – in fact, it may be years, at this point.

:D I love this icon. Rikki made this adorable phone-cam video back in the D-A-Y, and she asked if someone could make an icon out of it. I’ve only ever used it when replying to her (it doesn’t feel right otherwise), but I can’t get rid of it ’cause it’s too damned cute.

I am a huge fan of Henry Rollins’ spoken word (and a middlin’ fan of his music). I created a 3-dimensional portrait of him in an art class with foamcore and spraypaint, and (years later) decided it needed to be an icon. I use it interchangeably with my “get it done” icon to demonstrate a sense of motivation and drive.

I love following the trends of technology. I thought this graphic represented the wonder and fear of nanotechnology – microscopic and submicroscopic machines that could live in our bloodstream and change our lives forever. Maybe. One day. Depending on the sort of technology, I prepend my “Ain’t this cool?!” posts with this or my Robots icon.

    • Whoops, forgot to answer your question:

      what I do is go to my icons page and I right-click an icon and go to “Copy Image Location”.

      Then, I write the code IMG SRC=”PASTE” (paste being where you, uhm, paste, heh) and surround it with the pointy brackets. < being one of them. voila! image.
