IM communication – linear or non-linear?

•June 12, 2007 • 30 Comments

I know that thinking about how people communicate bores the crap out of most people, but I find it totally fascinating. This is an aggregate set of ideas here, I am not referring to any individual person.

I am most interested, at this second, in the differences between how people use I.M. Cut for the easily bored, heh

Now when you take me by the hooves …

There are those of you who were … skeptical that there was a ‘rear entry’ reference in the song Hey, Mickey!. The whole song’s about convincing your boyfriend to have sex, and this particular line’s just a little stinger (heh) that you aren’t meant to catch right off the bat, methinks. I think it makes this cheery little song that much more entertaining. ;)

I believe the logic given was that you’d have heard it already by now, but I’d like to clear this up once and for all. :D

Lyrics | alt

Now when you take me by the hooves,
Who evers gonna know?
Every time you move,
I let a little more show!
There’s something you can use,
So please don’t say ‘no’ Mickey!

So come on, and give it to me
Anyway you can.
Anyway you wanna do it,
I’ll take it like a man!

So please, baby, please
Don’t leave me in the [damn/down], Mickey!

Whee!

Michigan sole state that did not grow

Michigan’s sluggish economy over the last several years has resulted in a “one-state recession,” the according to a report by Comerica Bank Chief Economist Dana Johnson.

Eight sectors showed cumulative declines in real terms over the past three years. The hardest hit industries were manufacturing, construction and government, which accounted for a combined 80% of the overall decline in growth.

4% GDP difference between our state and the rest of the nation. Hooray!

Hmmmm…

ILB v2.0?

I hope some of my more diligent friends will keep us livejournalers up-to-date on anything that transpires… *chuckle* Then again, last game’s players may be this game’s staff, who knows?

Summertime, and the livin’ is easy

•June 11, 2007 • 3 Comments

Amy and Ari had a joint birthday party, which seemed to go swimmingly. I’d just eaten, or I would have snapped up some of that delicious pie. Dean’s brownies kicked my ass, though – half-size is plenty.

I sorta merged the two galleries of KT’s gatherings as I built them this morning, but I think it works just fine. :) Besides, I was already 10 minutes late for leaving!

KT’s graduation party was held at the Friday’s she used to work at in Auburn Hills, which I thought was quite poetic, really. I sincerely doubt she’ll find herself working at a Friday’s again, now that she has two degrees under her belt. ;) Or honor cords, as it were.

I had a pretty good time chatting it up, mostly with Nick and Carrie. I tried not to get mad at the waiter for being an hour late with my check, but when my girl’s gone to the car to sleep, I want to leave yesterday, buddy.

I also totally succeeded at not giving anyone shit for the $(*% concept of giving cigarettes as graduation gifts; I’d be really proud of that… if I didn’t totally fail for mentioning it now. :D

I R a ch33ky monkey!
