It’s amusing when I see I have 30 comments to a post, and discover that half of them are my responses. It’s slightly disturbing when I have the same experience on someone else’s post.

I M TAKING OVR! Muhahah– mm, toblerone chocolate on my fingers…

Commercial

GE has a water desalination commercial that I totally love. Fisherman are out tracking with radar, they throw down the net, and pull it up with various sizes of water bottles. They cheer as they struggle to put them in the boat, holding up the huge ones, and incidentally toss the fish back overboard.

Icons

I find it interesting to note that most people don’t use too many icons with their face in it. A new LJ friend of mine actually has more than I do, with nearly every single one of her icons being, actually, of her.

So now I’m curious. What do you think about icons of yourself? Do you prefer other things instead?

Personally, I stopped using mood icons many years ago now – I prefer the visual element, rather than just, say Mood: bored.

I don’t have too many of the cranky moods represented, though – that might just be because I’m not cranky all that often. :)

Firefly!

As Pfrank pointed out on twitter, Firefly is on Sci Fi!

However, I’m about to have dinner with mum, so I’ll have to pass. That’s okay though, I have Firefly on DVD now!

Ugh

I had a “Jumper”-like dream.

I was traveling both with friends -and- for work, and I got two days of work done before we’d head out on the road, but missed the most essential third day, when they’d pre-paid for a helicopter rental. I don’t remember everyone who was with me, but skippy was one. Anyway, we were crashing at a friend-of-a-friend’s place when I’m all, “oh shit”.

I run around and find my phone and my backpack, and basically, with my computer open, I end up warping to NYC. But it’s not a good neighborhood, and I almost have the backpack stolen off me at first. I ask at a sort of hospital (sort of because it was more like a lady at a toll booth for a dark and dirty ramp with dozens of sick and injured people aroudn) on how to find the subway to the train station, and she gives me some advice.

I start walking off, realize I don’t have my back, look up to see who has it, chase after him in a dead sprint, and he drops it right away. As I skid around to grab it, some completely different guy grabs it and runs. I flip out and chase after him and he goes into a house/condo/whatever, and I follow until we get to the second-floor door, which is an apartment proper, and is locked.

I start kicking at it until my brain does what it often does in nightmares, and says, “ENOUGH OF THIS!”

Rather than change the dream, I decided it was time for me to get the hell out of bed.

I’m so impressed

I watched a show on The History Channel called “Before the Dinosaurs”, and can I just say how utterly impressed I am with the CG and compositing? It’s truly amazing. Wow. Some of the most seamless and natural stuff I have ever seen.

Pet names

A friend of mine was talking pet names (someone tried to use the same one he uses on his pets), and I thought I’d make a poll. Now, I know there are particulars of when, where, and who here, but just give the poll the benefit of the doubt, I didn’t want to complicate it by splitting it up into public and private names, etc.
