Sundays have always been kind of irritating. On Sundays, mom would turn on her easy listening music and clean the house, so that’s firmly cemented in my mind. I’ve always been more-or-less irritated with the daily minutiae of life (cleaning, laundry, maintenance), and I prefer to have people with my alone time ;). Alas, everyone else is off having their alone-time alone. :D
I’ve lots I can do before I’ll be hitting up coffee in Ferndale with the ConVocation folks, but I look around and go, “… meh.” I’m almost annoyed with myself these days, for the amount of time I can waste woolgathering.
Okay, okay, enough griping, heh. Let’s see if I can start off with dishes, trash, and a little video capture.

Okay, so this Phallic Logo Awards is only marginally funny… until you get to the bottom and see the hands-down winner.
Who: Brazilian Institute for Oriental Studies
Pros: Oh, just look at it.
Cock mark: 100%

EDIT: No. This isn’t my tattoo idea.

I love when Hot Offers For Replica Watches appear in my inbox, though I feel like it’s pointless to actually buy those watches from myself, as it appears I’ve sent myself a flurry of invitations. I keep thinking, “Where am I hiding those watches?”
Some days I’m stunned by the amazing weirdness of life, and yesterday was definitely one of them. I’m still shaking my head about it this morning.
It’s friday, which means I’m in jeans, I’m taking my sweet ass time getting to work, and I’m stuck on page production all. day. That means I’ll probably be chatting up anyone who holds still long enough for an IM. ;)

So I’m reading renniekins‘ post where she says she needs to take her vitamins more diligently. Suddenly, I sit bolt upright and pat my breast pocket … yes, I did indeed put my multivitamin there this morning, and forgot it immediately after.
Trase invited me to her place for an impromptu tiki bar party last night with her brother, cousin, and George, and it was a pretty hilarious time. We shared all sorts of stories about our childhood, and it was funny that I had some of the same experiences with my own cousins. I left exhausted, though, and actually went to bed before 1:30, for once.
I’m glad I’m not in the sweltering heat of the day, and I’m currently enjoying the best view in the entire building, but damn, I don’t want to be here inputting articles. I want a road trip.
oh then it’s alright
when with every day another bit falls away
oh but it’s still alright, alright, alright
and like words together we can make some sense
much more than this
way beyond imagination
much more than this
beyond the stars
with my head so full
so full of fractured pictures
and i’m all there
right next to you

Due to the high quality of my piecershmidt phone, I seem to have mysteriously lost some phone numbers.
Those who I put email addresses to still have names, but no numbers. I have no idea who might have been just a number and is now gone.
Anyway, these folks are missing a phone # –
atropis
Autumn
filmmmaker79
Benny
Deonna
Deridere
Jeska
Rebecca (yes you)
Seriously, couldn’t I have lost some less important numbers, like the pizza shop? And why the hell is it that your first option for a number is call, your third is “send text”, and your SECOND is “erase all knowledge of them ever existing”?!
Meanwhile, I got the tapes for Chuck’s Roast, tonight, at Tios. Now, I just need to borrow a Mini-DV cam, and I’ll be set.
EDIT: *perk* It seems a random person found my video and commented in her own journal. Pretty nice to know that strangers dig it, too.

Gosh, life sure is hard when I take Monday off and work from home on Wednesday.
:D
No, I still haven’t finished (again) HP6 so I can read HP7, but that’s the least of things on my plate – I have a cycle, and I’m definitely on “social” right now.
I’ve started taking multivitamins again, and I’ve done a reasonable job, over the past few weeks, in paying attention to what I eat. As a fast eater (blame my big mouth, heh), I have to make sure I don’t finish my plate just to avoid wasting food. When I’m willing to make the effort to be healthier, I get some pretty quick results – I just let myself get distracted. In my list of priorities, it is fairly low.
I’m geeked ’cause Chuck’s supposed to be getting me the raw tapes for his roast, so I can finally get something done there.
I may or may not find myself at Tios tonight. I’ve not been to the Tios social night before, so what the heck. I might see netmouse at the same time!

I could use a day off after a weekend spent helping people and lifting heavy things, and I have way too many PTO days left, so that’s what I’m going to do.

Any advice here from other CSS-savvy people would be greatly appreciated.
Situation: div box holding text and two images that should be layered, one on top of the other.
I can’t use background because it’s an image that must be resized.
I can’t use absolute positioning, because the rest of the page (which is too complex to tear apart) isn’t -precisely- the same in IE and FF.
When I use relative positioning to say “put transparent image over other image”, that works fine… EXCEPT: the original div is still stretched to fit the space the image SHOULD be in if it weren’t floating over the background image.
I’ve tried forcing the size of the box, but now I’m missing the text that’s supposed to be below.
Anything?
EDIT: Okay, problem was worked around. Exceeept… it still shoves the next box down in Firefox but not IE.
